Anderson police arrest man on murder charges following week-long investigation

UPDATE (November 2018) — Nicholas Gray was found guilty following his trial. He was sentenced to 98 years in the Department of Correction.

ANDERSON, Ind. –Police arrested Nicholas Stuart Gray, 26, of Anderson, following a week-long murder investigation.

Jeremy Silvey was found unresponsive from an apparent gunshot wound to the head last Thursday night in the parking lot of Lynn Wood Village Apartments. Silvey succumbed to his injury the next day.

Police arrested Gray on an initial charge of murder Wednesday night.

Anderson police report that Gray was arrested at his home in the 1700 block of Johnson Avenue Anderson, Indiana without incident.

In addition to Gray’s arrest, police allegedly found items germane to their investigation inside Gray’s residence upon the execution of a search warrant.

Silvey’s homicide still remains under investigation. If anyone has information about this case, please call the Anderson Police Department at 765-648-6758 or Crime Stoppers at 649-8310.
