INDIANAPOLIS – Police are investigating after three people were injured in three separate shootings early Friday morning on Indy’s east side.

Officers first responded to the 3700 block of Shadeland Avenue on reports of a person shot.

When they arrived on scene, officers say they found a 34-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound to the leg. He was transported to Eskenazi Hospital with non-life threatening injuries and no suspect information was released.

Less than an hour later, officers were called to The Point nightclub in the 3300 block of North Arlington Avenue.

Responding officers say an intoxicated patron got into an argument with a bouncer because he did not want to pay two dollars for a bottle of water. The argument escalated and the patron shot the bouncer in the ear.

The bouncer was treated for injuries at the scene and is expected to be OK. Officers say the suspect is in custody.

Shortly before 4 a.m., police were called back to the 3700 block of Shadeland Avenue to investigate a report of more shots fired in the area.

Officers say when they arrived on scene, they found a man suffering from a gunshot wound to the foot.

Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the two Shadeland Ave. shootings. Anyone with information about either incident it urged to call Crime Stoppers at 317-262-TIPS (8477).
