Police identify man found dead at Ray’s Trash Service on west side of Indianapolis

INDIANAPOLIS—Officials are investigating a death after a body was found at a Ray’s Trash Service recycling center on the city’s west side.

Homicide detectives were called to the White River Recycling and Transfer building at 200 S. Harding Street just before 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 8.

Workers reported finding the body as they were processing trash coming in on a conveyor belt.

Police identified the man as Allen Williams, 47. According to the Marion County Coroner’s Office, the manner and cause of death were pending.

Police say Williams’ body didn’t show signs of decomposition. He was found partially clothed.

Investigators are working to track where workers picked up the body.

Ray’s Trash Service general manager said they are fully cooperating with police.
