FISHERS, Ind. – Indiana conservation officers say the body of the man who went missing Saturday while boating at Geist Reservoir was recovered Sunday morning.

Officers say Andrew Dimitroff, 24, was jumping from a large raft into Cocktail Cove with a group of friends, when the group realized he had gone missing around 6:29 p.m.

Multiple departments, including Fishers police, Fishers fire and Indianapolis fire responded to the area around 6:43 p.m. and began searching. The search utilized divers, boats and sonar units to scan the bottom of the cove. The search was suspended around 12 a.m. and picked back up Sunday morning. Dimitroff’s body was then found around 9:23 a.m. from about 23 feet under water.

Officers say Dimitroff was not wearing a life jacket at the time of his disappearance.  According to witness accounts, alcohol may have been a factor in his disappearance.

An autopsy is scheduled for late Sunday afternoon at the request of the Hamilton County Coroner’s Office to determine cause of death.
