INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – A man suffered minor injuries after several shots were fired at his car on the near northeast side of Indianapolis early Thursday morning.

The shooting happened around 4 a.m. in the 2500 block of Dr. Andrew J. Brown Avenue. Indianapolis Metropolitan police said an officer was patrolling the area when he saw a dark-colored, four-door vehicle roll by. Someone fired several shots at a parked car; CBS4 crews counted more than a dozen bullet holes on the vehicle.

Police pursued the vehicle, but were unable to catch up to it.

Despite the number of shots fired into the car, only one bullet went into the vehicle, going through the front driver’s side window. Police said the bullet didn’t hit the man; flying glass shards from the impact left a cut on his face.

Police were still looking for the shooter. Anyone with information should call Crime Stoppers at (317) 262-TIPS.
