INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.-- Police are searching for a man who is wanted for breaking into a home in August 2015 and going into a young girl's bedroom. He may also be tied to recent cases of a man creeping around homes in Franklin Township.

The arrest warrant for Weston Gray was issued Friday. He faces preliminary charges of battery resulting in bodily injury and residential breaking and entering.

A homeowner in Franklin Township shared video recently of a man who came up to the door and appears to try to get inside. The latest video was recorded at 3:12 a.m. You can hear the man pushing the locked handle and trying to punch in a code. He walks away and then tries again four minutes later.

The homeowner said the man has tried to get in on three separate occasions.

She filed a police report. Then, she posted pictures to the Franklin Township Chat Facebook page to try to find the man.

“I saw the video and I immediately got tears in my eyes and felt like I was going to throw up,” said a family friend who saw the video on Facebook. “I immediately just called her because I knew that was the guy who broke into our home.”

On August 7, 2015, a man walked into the family friend's unlocked home on Bombay Drive and went into her daughter’s bedroom while the girl slept. She believes that man and his car are a perfect match to the ones in the videos from Franklin Township.

According to court documents, the family's teen son heard footsteps, followed by his sister screaming. He ran to his sister's room and saw a man leaving. The son threw a punch at the suspect and the man fled in a vehicle.

The girl told police she awoke to find a man standing over her in her room. She kicked and screamed, and he left a scratch on her arm. According to court documents, he grabbed her arms as she resisted.

“It was a white, crossover-type, SUV-type thing,” the homeowner said, recounting the incident. “My son chased him out to his vehicle. I was trying to open up his car door and I basically banged on his window six or seven times, so I was pretty close to him and then he drove away.”

Police said their investigation into the recent Franklin Township video led them to issuing an arrest warrant in the 2015 case for Gray. He has not been charged with anything related to the recent videos.
