Armed robbery reported at Starbucks on east side of Indianapolis

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – An Indianapolis Starbucks closed Wednesday after an early morning robbery.

According to police dispatchers, the robbery happened around 5:30 a.m., just about the time the store, located at East 21st Street and Shadeland Avenue., opened. Two employees were inside but no customers were present. According to officers at the scene, a man with a hoodie entered the store and waved a gun. He took some money before running away.

Indianapolis Metropolitan police were on the scene and looking for the suspect.

The Starbucks closed to customers immediately after the robbery. Employees were seen inside preparing for business, but the doors were locked and no one was being let inside.
