Northeast side Indianapolis Arby’s closed after Tuesday morning fire

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Three employees were inside an Indianapolis Arby’s restaurant when it caught fire Tuesday morning.

According to the Indianapolis Fire Department, crews arrived at Arby’s at 6421 E. 82nd St. in response to the fire after receiving multiple 911 calls.

Smoke was showing from the roof when the first unit arrived at 9:10 a.m. IFD had it under control by 9:18 a.m. and the fire was out by 9:24 a.m.

IFD said the fire likely started in the air handling system. Three employees were inside the restaurant, which hadn’t opened for business for the day when the fire broke out.

The location sustained significant damage inside and will remain closed until repairs are made.
