CUMBERLAND, Ind. – Cumberland police said a teenage suspect arrested Friday morning may be connected to a recent string of car break-ins.

Police arrested a 15-year-old after a chase early Friday morning. Police checking on reported suspicious activity in the area of East 21st Street and North Cumberland Road tried to stop the car, but the driver took off.

Police eventually stopped the car and arrested the teen driver; a passenger in the vehicle managed to escape capture. Police found items in the car that could be linked to recent break-ins.

In the past few weeks, police have been investigating thefts from vehicles in Cumberland, Hancock County and the far east side of Indianapolis.
