NWS confirms multiple tornado touchdowns in central Indiana

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. -- Tornado Warnings were issued for multiple Indiana counties Monday evening.

The National Weather Service confirmed multiple tornado touchdowns, including in Hendricks and Hamilton counties.

A tornado was seen in Danville at 5:52 p.m., about 17 miles west of Indianapolis. It was moving northeast at 25 miles per hour. A confirmed touch down took place shortly after just east of Pittsboro.

NWS also confirmed a tornado on the ground in Brownsburg just after 6:30 p.m.

Residents in Brownsburg are cleaning up branches and tree limbs from their yards. Massive trees uprooted falling on top of homes and cars. One man's pontoon boat flew 50 feet into a neighbors yard. Many are thankful no one was hurt. Some neighbors are staying with relatives for a few days until their power is restored.

Additionally, a tornado was confirmed nine miles northwest of Noblesville, moving northeast at 25 miles per hour.

Damage has been reported in several counties, including a destroyed barn and house in Hendricks County.
