INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – If you love Mario Kart, you’ll definitely want to check out an event happening in Fountain Square this week!

On Friday, August 12, 24 teams will compete in a real life Mario Kart-inspired race.

The inaugural FS Human Mario Kart GP will take place in the Murphy Arts Center parking lot.

The teams will pedal Triad Drift Trikes around a track while avoiding plenty of obstacles. Spectators will blast the racers with turtle shells (water balloons) and Super Soakers while trying to collect coins and competing for the grand prize – the Mushroom Cup.

The grand prize winners will receive TRIAD Drift Trikes, a Super Nintendo System with Mario Kart, and a Goose Island prize package.

The event organizers are still accepting team entries! Contact Josh Baker at for more details.

Also, if you’d like to be a spectator, please RSVP here!
