INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – A man died following a crash involving a motorcycle and a car on the northeast side Tuesday night.

Around 8:30 p.m., officers from the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department were dispatched East 38th Street and Butler Avenue in response to the crash. Police said a motorcyclist had been thrown from his vehicle and a sedan had considerable damage on the rear passenger side.

Police said it appeared the motorcycle was going at a high rate of speed westbound when it hit the car, which was crossing 38th Street going north on Butler Avenue.

The motorcyclist was rushed to Eskenazi Hospital and later died from his injuries. Police said intoxication wasn’t suspected as a factor in the crash.

Police have not yet released the man’s name.
