INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — Police say they are looking for a suspect that fled from them on a stolen moped late Saturday night.

Officers in Fountain Square began pursuit with the suspect around 8:00 p.m. Officers used flash bang grenades to alert and confuse the suspect.

The chase didn’t last long and the suspect eventually ditched the moped and fled on foot. He went inside a residence in the 1900 block of Prospect Street.

SWAT personnel and negotiators attempted to talk the suspect out. They were in contact with the homeowners and the suspects family. Police say it is unclear at this time if there is a connection between the suspect and the house he fled into.

Just before 11:30 p.m. officers entered the home and discovered the suspect was not inside.

Officers say the suspect is in his late 20s or early 30s. Police believe the suspect is wanted on unrelated warrants for several serious felonies.

Commander Michael Jefferson said police will try and work towards releasing his name and pictures, so that the public can help find him.
