INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.– On the first day of the Indiana State Fair, there are reports of numerous car break-ins at the fairgrounds.
One of the victims, the husband of a FOX59 employee, parked in the infield lot Friday afternoon. When he came back to his car, he found the window smashed and valuables missing.
Security officials with the fair told him this has happened at least six other times Friday.
One police report indicated a purse was stolen from a 78-year-old woman.
Police remind fairgoers to leave valuables at home if possible or at least out of plain sight.
