INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.– Indianapolis police released a sketch Monday of a suspected wanted in connection with an east side shooting that left two people dead and a child injured.

Officers responded to the 2300 block of Magnolia Place just after 6:30 p.m. on July 2. Three victims were located, suffering from gunshot wounds.

Justin Sims, 32, was pronounced dead at the scene. Dangelo Brown, 26, died after being transported to the hospital. A 3-year-old child was seriously injured in the shooting and taken to Riley Hospital for Children at IU Health.

The family had just returned home from a funeral when they heard the shots.

Police believe a lone gunman approached the gathering on foot and began shooting at the crowd. After the shooting, the suspect fled on foot.

Police describe the suspect as a black male in his early 20s, approximately 5’9″ tall with a light complexion. The suspect had a thinly-trimmed goatee and his sideburns were trimmed to a point. At the time of the incident, he was wearing a black and red Cincinnati Reds baseball cap, a green hooded sweatshirt and a white shirt.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at (317) 262-TIPS.
