Large gas leak reported on West 136th Street in Carmel

CARMEL, Ind.– Police confirmed a “large” gas leak occurred Monday in Carmel.

Vectren said a six inch plastic main was struck and damaged by a contractor doing water line work in the 1200 block of West 136th Street around 5:30 p.m.

Both directions of West 136th Street are closed as crews work on the leak. The street will be closed until around 9 p.m.

There are no evacuations underway and Vectren says there are no service interruptions.
