HENDRICKS COUNTY, Ind. – Lanes of I-70 were temporarily blocked off Saturday as crews cleaned up fuel spilled from a semi.

Around 4:41 p.m., Avon fire officials say a chain on the road punctured the semi’s passenger fuel tank, which had about 140 gallons of diesel inside.

Fire crews manually pumped gas out of the tank to slow down the leak, but around 30 gallons still ended up covering the roadway.

EPA was called to determine if any additional measures needed to be taken. There’s no word when crews will finish.
