Heat Advisory now, through Saturday evening
The hottest air in three years is here and will be with us through race weekend. Highs will be in the 90s with the heat index above 100 degrees due to high humidity. We’ll have a chance for afternoon and evening t-storms and scattered strong t-storms will be likely each day through Monday.
Most of the central US is in the grips of a heatwave.
20 states now have some form of heat advisory of heat warning in effect.
Indiana will be under a heat advisory for the next two days.
The heat index will peak near 110 degrees on Saturday.
We’ll have a chance for t-storms Friday.
We’ll have scattered t-storms on Sunday that may affect the race.
Strong storms are likely on Monday.
Pockets of heavy rain are likely over the next five days.
