INDIANAPOLIS - It's an experience for wine lovers! Tastings: A Wine Experience downtown Indianapolis allows customers to sample wines from all across the world. With over 200 wines in stock, the entire selection is available by taste, glass and bottle. Now, Tastings is on the go with a vintage wine truck.

"We really wanted to create an environment where people could come in and explore wines in a non-intimidating way," says General Manager Ross Bailey.

Tastings: A Wine Experience opened in October of 2009.

The concept is simple - load money on a Tastings card, then sample wines with a 2,4 or 6-ounce pour in your class. Customers also get a discount for buying a bottle to-go.

"It really allows you to explore without looking at the stuffy wine list, not knowing how to pronounce the wines and finding out what they like and don't like," explains Bailey.

Wine Guides can help you pick your pour, and the technology keeps the vine fresh: "Oxygen is a wine’s worst enemy, and we eliminate it when we put it on station."

Now, Tastings is on the go! The Tastings Wine Truck holds several wine kegs and just started pouring wine at event throughout Central Indiana. Bailey started restoring the 1952 Vintage Metro last year.

"They can go to Carmel. They can go to Greenwood. You can get them in areas that you wouldn’t be able to before," explains Brittany Smith from Yelp Indy.

Brittany Smith from Yelp Indy says Yelpers also write about the food in the online reviews. The fig and goat cheese flat-bread is a favorite. The flat-breads are half-price on Thursdays.

Plus, the outdoor patio seating on Washington Street, right along the Cultural Trial is a highlight for Yelpers.

"Over 40 spots on the patio. It’s located right under the arts garden. Can’t ask for a better people watching spot," says Smith.
