Woman seriously injured in ATV crash, driver charged with OWI
GREENE COUNTY, Ind. – A Bloomfield man was arrested Saturday night after conservation officers say he crashed an ATV while under the influence, which seriously injured his female passenger.
Officers say Jarred Conolty, 31, crashed the 2003 Polaris ATV while climbing a steep embankment behind a home in the 4000 block of West 550 North in Worthington. He then called 911 around 11:19 p.m.
The passenger, Alicia Nelson, 34, was transported to IU Health Hospital in Bloomington to be treated for blunt force trauma to her face, lacerations and possible internal injuries.
While officers were on scene, they say they smelled alcohol on Conolty. He was later arrested on preliminary charges of operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated.
