INDIANAPOLIS—A family of four along with their two pets will have to find another place to stay after a neighbor’s SUV crashed into the front of their south side apartment Sunday.

Shortly after 4:30 p.m. emergency crews were called to the 1700 block of Portage Court on the report of a structure collapse at the Bradford Lake Apartments.

That scene is near Stop 10 Road and South Madison Avenue.

According to investigators, the 20 year-old driver hit the gas pedal instead of the brake and plowed into the front of his neighbor’s apartment.

The family who lived in the apartment was not home at the time of the accident.

The family’s dog and cat were both located and appear to be okay.

The driver was not injured.

An IFD Collapse Rescue Team shored up the damaged building.

Damage to the two-story brick building was estimated at $10,000.
