3 firefighters injured battling blaze in Shelbyville factory

SHELBYVILLE, Ind. –Three Shelbyville Firefighters were injured Sunday night while battling a fire at Knauf Fiber Glass Industries on that city’s north side.

Fire crews were called to 400 Walker Street around 8:20 p.m., after receiving several reports of a fire at the plant with flames visible.

Shelbyville Fire Chief Tony Logan confirmed that three of his firefighters were hurt while fighting the fire.  They were taken to a local hospital and were being treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Several area volunteer fire departments also responded to the scene.  The fire is reportedly under control.
