Suspect taken into custody after pursuit
UPDATE (July 2, 2018)– Gregory Decapua pleaded guilty to resisting law enforcement and all other charges were dropped. He was sentenced to 365 days, which was already completed with his time served.
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Police pursued a driver from Hendricks County to Boone County Monday morning before making an arrest.
According to the Plainfield Police Department, the incident started in Plainfield after a hit-and-run there earlier Monday morning.
Police were able to find the driver and pulled him over. However, the driver took off on U.S. 40 after police tried to question him. The car eventually got onto I-465 and headed north on I-65.
The car stopped on I-65 northbound near State Road 334 in Boone County after suffering mechanical failure, police said. The suspect, Gregory Decapua, 49, Zionsville, was taken into custody. Preliminary charges against him include leaving the scene of an accident and resisting arrest.
The pursuit involved Plainfield police, Indiana State Police and IMPD.
