Community tip leads to meth arrests in Terre Haute
TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – Two people in Terre Haute were arrested Monday after Indiana State Police received a tip about possible meth activity at their home.
Troopers from the Putnamville District Meth Suppression Unit responded to the home in the 300 block of West Taylor Drive to investigate around 3:05 p.m.
During the investigation, troopers say they could smell a strong odor of marijuana coming from the residence. Upon further investigation, 15 grams of suspected methamphetamine and nearly two grams of marijuana were discovered.
George Cheesman, 50, and Mary Marshall, 43, were arrested as a result. Both were transported to the Vigo County Jail. Cheesman was charged with possession of methamphetamine, maintaining a common nuisance, and possession of paraphernalia. Marshall was charged with dealing methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine, possession of paraphernalia, maintaining a common nuisance, dealing marijuana.
