INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.– Neighborhoods, USA (NUSA) named Indianapolis’ Fletcher Place Neighborhood Association the 2016 winner of the Neighborhood of the Year Award.
Fletcher Place finished in first place in the “social revitalization” category. Seventy live acts on nine stages were welcomed to the inaugural Virginia Avenue Folk Fest. More than 10,000 people attended.
“The family-friend festival introduced the young, as well as the young at heart, to Americana, bluegrass and folk music, while also promoting local businesses,” NUSA wrote on its website. “The event also raised funds for and awareness of the non-profit group Trusted Mentors.”
If you want to go celebrate Fletcher Place’s achievement, there are a lot of interesting places you can check out: Rook, South of Chicago Pizza and Beef, Hotel Tango, Pioneer, Chilly Water Brewery, Calvin Fletcher’s Coffee Company and Amelia’s bakery, just to name a few.
