Winning Mega Millions jackpot ticket sold in Cambridge City
INDIANAPOLIS – The Mega Millions jackpot finally has a jackpot winner!
For the third time this year, the jackpot was won on the 8th day of the month.
According to the Mega Millions, a single winning jackpot ticket was sold in Indiana, at a Speedway gas station in Cambridge City.
The prize is estimated at $541 million ($381 million cash), making it the third largest jackpot in Mega Millions history. This is also the most money ever won on a single Mega Millions ticket, according to the Mega Millions website.
“It was a great four-month run, resulting in millions of dollars being generated for beneficiaries across the country,” said Paula Otto, Executive Director of the Virginia Lottery and Lead Director for the Mega Millions group. “Lucky 8 happened again, as the Mega Millions game had its third jackpot winner of the year on July 8, following winners on January 8 and March 8.”
The winning numbers in Friday’s drawing were 8, 19, 20, 55, 73 with a Megaball of 5.
