LONE JACK, Mo. — Winco Fireworks is recalling thousands of fireworks ahead of the 4th of July due to a fire hazard.

The Missouri based company issued the recall for 14,000 Black Cat Glitter fountain cones Friday.

The company says the device can burst and spread sparks outward, instead of upward as intended, causing potential burning and injuries for bystanders.

The cones come in packs of three and have a model number of BC269 on the bottom of the packaging. They are approximately 6-inches tall and have the Black Cat logo on the packaging. The words “Crackling Glitter,” “Colorful Glitter” or “Gold Glitter” are printed in black on the front of the cones.

Winco Fireworks has received three reports of the devices spraying outward, but no injuries have been reported.

Anyone with the product should immediately return it to the retailer where they purchased it from for a refund or exchange.
