Man found not guilty of murder in connection with shooting of 51-year-old

Jerry Turentine was found not guilty of murder on Nov. 8, 2017.


INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Indianapolis Metropolitan police arrested a man in connection with a June homicide case.

According to IMPD, Jerry Turentine, 35, Indianapolis, fatally shot Leroy Brown, 51, on June 25, 2016. IMPD. Police found Brown lying in the street after suffering from multiple gunshot wounds in the 3000 block of N. Sherman Drive.

Brown went to Eskenazi Hospital in critical condition. Although he was upgraded to serious condition, his condition worsened and he died from his injuries.

Police said the shooting stemmed from an earlier disturbance. They obtained an arrest warrant for Turentine on Thursday and arrested him in Lawrence Thursday night on a murder charge.
