BARTHOLOMEW COUNTY, Ind. – A woman was arrested Tuesday after deputies say she became “irate” and attacked them when she was unable to drive down a road due to a hit-and-run investigation.

The incident happened around 10 p.m. at South Aspen Road and Brush Creek in Bartholomew County.

Barbara Kennedy, 47, was taken into custody and preliminary charged with disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, and battery on an officer. She has since been released on $12,000 bond.

Deputies are still investigating the hit-and-run, during which a 13-year-old boy was injured after being struck by a gold-colored, 4-door, Honda-style vehicle.

The father of the boy’s friend was following the boys home and told deputies that he saw the vehicle turn westbound on Brush Creek, but didn’t see the accident.

The injured boy was taken to Columbus Regional Hospital.

No vehicles matching the description were found in the area.  If anyone has any information regarding this incident, you’re asked to call the Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Office at 812-379-1650.
