Teen shot as he walked past two men arguing

INDIANAPOLIS – Metro Police are investigating a shooting at an east side apartment complex Sunday afternoon.

Shortly after 4 p.m. emergency crews were called to the 7200 block of Twin Oaks Drive.   That scene is near East 38th Street and North Shadeland Avenue.

Police say a 17 -year-old male was walking through the apartment complex and passed two people arguing.

According to witnesses, one man fired a shot that missed the second man.  The stray bullet struck the teen who was just walking by.

The bullet grazed the teen in his right cheek.  Police say he was awake and breathing when an ambulance took him to Eskenazi Hospital.

Police continue to look for the two men who were arguing when the shot was fired.
