Car fire kills one person overnight in Indianapolis

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — One person is dead following a vehicle fire overnight.

The fire happened around 5 a.m. near 79th Street and River Road on the north side of Indianapolis.

Police at the scene said it appears a driver failed to negotiate a turn, causing the car to crash. The car flipped upside down, caught fire, and the driver died inside.
