INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Storms stirred an Indianapolis woman early Thursday morning, and she knew no good would come from the big crash she heard.

Janet Vandever said she woke up around 3:30 a.m. She heard the wind and then the crash, which turned out to be a tree falling on her two cars at 1918 N. Parker.

“I heard all the wind and everything, and I heard a big crash. I thought it came from the back, but I didn’t see anything there. I looked out front and I saw my lights blinking on my car,” she said.

She stepped on the porch to get a better look and realized what had happened. She said it could’ve been much worse.

“What can I say? It could’ve fallen on the house, so God is truly good. That’s all I can say. God is good.”

Vandever said she also has a truck that was parked just ahead of where the tree fell.

She also said she’s been concerned about that particular tree for a long time and has contacted the city about it in the past.

“I knew this was going to happen. It’s just a matter of time because you can see the roots were pushing up.”
