Man dies in motorcycle crash on northeast side

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.– Police say a motorcyclist died Friday evening in a crash on the northeast side of Indianapolis.

Crews responded to the crash at East 38th Street and Drexel Avenue just after 5:30 p.m. on a report of an accident with injury.

Police said a male motorcyclist was headed eastbound on 38th Street when he shifted lanes to avoid another vehicle that was changing lanes. The motorcyclist overcorrected into the westbound lanes, where he was fatally struck by an oncoming car.

He was pronounced dead on the scene. The driver of the vehicle was taken to the hospital to be checked out.
