CUMBERLAND, Ind.– Police are now investigating the shooting death of Anthony Harmon Jr., 10, as a homicide.

Harmon died after he was shot in the head at Berkshire Square Apartments on May 27. He was found in the kitchen of an apartment and pronounced dead on the scene.

Officers said they believe the boy lived at that apartment, but only young kids and teens were there at the time of the shooting. No adults were there at the time. Police say they took the kids who were inside to an offsite location as they attempted to contact parents and do interviews.

Police said Tuesday the investigation is taking longer than expected because of all the children involved. Officers expect to meet with the prosecutor Friday morning to report what they have discovered. No arrests have been made.
