INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Hoosiers looking for jobs or some extra money this summer can apply to work at the Indiana State Fair.
The fair is holding a job fair Wednesday as it tries to fill hundreds of open positions. All of them are minimum wage, and anyone who’s at least 14 years old can apply.
The job fair runs from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday at the Farm Bureau Building at the Indiana State Fairgrounds. As long as you’re there by 6 p.m., you’re guaranteed an interview.
A resume is not required, organizers said. You do have to be available to work all 17 days of the fair to be considered. Several different positions are available.
“We’re looking at any applicants age 14 and over, but we’re filling jobs for ticket takers and gate attendants, security supervisors even our educational department,” said Lesley Gordon with the Indiana State Fair.
“We’re really looking for excited people ready to be that front line to help maintain the fair experience for our fairgoers.”
Fair officials said about 40 percent of seasonal employees end up getting full-time positions.
The Indiana State fair runs from Aug. 5 through Aug. 21.
