Police arrest Greencastle officer in Hendricks County for OWI

HENDRICKS COUNTY, Ind.– A Greencastle police officer was arrested in Hendricks County Thursday for drunk driving.
Detective Randolph Luther Seipel, 49, faces charges of operating a vehicle while intoxicated, operating a vehicle with alcohol concentration equivalent to .15 or more and speeding.
Around 9:40 p.m. on May 26, was seen traveling above the posted speed limit on U.S. 40. He was stopped east of Dan Jones Road. He was given a breath test and registered at .20, according to police.
Seipel was taken to the Hendricks County Jail and later bonded out.
Greencastle Police Chief Tom Sutherland told CBS4 he is working with the mayor and city attorney regarding discipline and the officer’s status within the department.
