INDIANAPOLIS - Gov. Mike Pence (R-IN) and Mayor Joe Hogsett (D-Indianapolis) both spoke at Friday's annual 500 Festival memorial service, highlighting the importance of Memorial Day in the Hoosier State.

"We are called to mourn with those who mourn and grieve with those who grieve," said Pence.

"We've sent our men and women into battle in many different arenas," said Hogsett. "We all have loved ones that we lost in those conflicts... we can not forget what our brave men and women died fighting for."
