Man injured after shooting in northwest side neighborhood

Police on scene of shooting

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Police say a man was injured after being shot at while driving through a northwest side neighborhood Monday evening.

It happened just after 6 p.m. in the 5600 block of Pilgrim Drive.

The gunshots hit the driver’s side window and shattered the glass, which then punctured the man, according to the police.

The man, who police describe as being in his upper teens or low twenties, was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries. He was alert and conscious.

Aggravated assault detectives were requested to the scene.
