Update: Cornelius Thompson was found guilty of promoting prostitution and HTV. He was sentenced to a total of 15 years on April, 13 2017.

Update: Elyvin Jackson was found guilty of corrupt business influence, promoting prostitution and invasion of privacy. He was also considered a habitual offender and was sentenced to 11 years in the Department of Correction with confinement commenced on June 2, 2017.

LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Two men have been arrested on charges of human trafficking in Lafayette.

Police were called to the 2700 block of Underwood Street to investigate a reported disturbance Saturday.

During the investigation, police say they found a possible human-trafficking victim.

The investigation led to the arrests of Cornelius Thompson, 33, and Elyvin Jackson, 30, around 10 p.m. Monday. The men were both charged with sexual trafficking of a minor, a level 3 felony.

This investigation is ongoing with the assistance of the Tippecanoe County Prosecutor’s Office.  Anybody with information regarding this incident or individuals is encouraged to contact the Lafayette Police Department (807-1200) or the We-Tip Hotline (800-78-CRIME).
