INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. -  Metro Police Chief Troy Riggs is scheduled to meet with Indianapolis teens Friday to discuss concerns about crime and law enforcement.

The "Chief Talk Movement" aims to create a connection between Indy's top cop and the young people. The youth town hall meeting allows younger residents to address their concerns with Riggs, directly.  The event was created through a partnership between IMPD, The Bloom Project and the Indianapolis chapter of the Indiana Black Expo.

As the summer months approach, it is particularly important to reach young people. Students will soon kick off their summer vacation and police want to make sure teens spend the time off in a positive way.

So far this year, at least 11 teens - ages 19 and under - have been victims of homicide.

The Chief Talk Movement allows young people to ask questions and share how violence in the city impacts their lives.

The town hall meeting is happening at the Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church, 3101 East 30th Street, at 7 p.m.  Interested teens are asked to register ahead of the event. Click here for registration information.
