MUNCIE, Ind.—A woman was arrested on a felony battery charge after her husband reported he was struck several times with a tire iron after telling her he wanted a divorce.

Paige Mclaughlin, 35, was arrested on a charge of battery with a deadly weapon, a level 5 felony.

An officer with the Muncie Police Department responded to the 300 block of W. Centennial Ave. in reference to a battery around 10:07 a.m. on May 9.

According to court documents, the officer spoke with the victim, who was bleeding from his head. The man told the officer his estranged wife beat him with a tire iron after he talked about divorcing her.

The man said Mclaughlin struck him in the head, chest and arm.

According to the report, Mclaughlin’s birthday is tomorrow and she may be spending it booked in the Delaware County Jail unless she posts a $10,000 bond.
