Monday – Start Your Day Right with Stretches
Spring cleaning your life doesn’t just mean clearing out the closet. It also means simplifying your life and getting it on the right track.
This week CBS4 This Morning is making sure your body feels its best and sometimes it starts with a little stretch.
“It’s really important to do some yoga, do some stretches to gain some space in the body,” said Hye Jin Kalgaonkar, owner and instructor at Indiana’s Very Own Hot Room Yoga in Carmel and Downtown Indianapolis. “Reverse some of the damage that we do on a regular basis by sitting.”
Tuesday - Stretches at Your Desk
Aches and pains can really slow you down, especially at work and you might have some of those problems because of your job.
For Tuesday, we looked into the four quick stretches to do while in you’re the office.
According to Kalgaonkar, the most important thing to do is get out of your chair.
The four positions she demonstrated are meant to reverse the position many people are in during the day which is hunched forward at their desks.
Wednesday - Home Exercise Equipment
Time to throw out the Shake Weight or that the Thigh Master!
Gym 41 shows CBS4 This Morning the four pieces of equipment to have at home to stay in shape:

Thursday - Exercise Anywhere
Are you spending hundreds on a gym membership this year but are barely going?
Lindsay Bevilaqua from Gym 41 on Indianapolis’ Northwest side showed us four exercises you can do right at home to get a full body workout.
- Power squat lunges
- Chest to ground burpee
- Plank push-up and then knees up
- Bicycle into a toe touch
Friday - 4 Foods to Toss Out
If you’re looking to shed a few pounds or kick start your diet, here are four things to throw out of your kitchen according to Dr. Theresa Rohr-Kirchgraber from Eskenazi Health.
- Coffee creamer
- Sweetened beverages like fruit punch, soda or sports drinks
- Cookies and sugary snacks
- Dried cereal where sugar isn’t the first 3 ingredients on the list
Friday - 4 Best Foods To Start Your Day
- A protein like hard boiled eggs
- Glass of milk
- Non-fat plain yogurt
- Carbohydrate like chia seed or flax seed
