Munchkin is recalling about 180,000 of its LatchTM lightweight pacifiers because they pose a choking hazard.

The company determined that a little plastic cover that goes over the pacifier’s clip can detach.

The Van Nuys, California, company says it has received five reports each from Canada and the United States of the clip detaching. No injuries have been reported.

The pacifiers were sold for about $11 to $15 at Babies”R”Us, Target, Walmart and other locations. They were also sold online at sites such as amazon.com, the Consumer Protection Safety Commission said.

Several styles and color patterns are part of the recall — details of which are available on the commission’s recall page.

The commission recommends parents take the clip away from young children and contact Munchkin for a replacement or a refund at 877-242-3134 or www.munchkin.com.
