INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. --Good Monday morning! Roads are damp with areas of light to moderate rain across central Indiana. Indianapolis has seen about 0.25 inches of rain so far today. Heavy rain will taper with a slight chance of light rain through the morning drive.
Spotty showers will continue through the day with a few isolated t-storms possible later this afternoon/evening. No severe weather is expected today.
Highs will be in the upper 60s with east, southeast winds 10-15 mph. A warm front will lift north across the area tonight through Tuesday and hang around the area this week. This, along with a few upper-air disturbances will lead to daily shower and t-storm chances.
We'll have a chance of strong t-storms Tuesday afternoon and then again Wednesday. We'll watch the forecast carefully.
Monday night temperatures will be in the upper 50s with highs in the low 70s on Tuesday. Wednesday will bring near 80 degrees for a high temperature. If you're heading out to practice or qualifications for the Grand Prix of Indianapolis this week, plan on a chance of showers and t-storms Thursday. Friday will bring a mostly sunny sky with a chance of rain in the evening. The Grand Prix on Saturday will bring cooler weather with highs in the low 60s. --Danielle Dozier
