INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — Police say a man died and a woman was hurt after a double shooting on Indy’s east side.
Police responded to the Knights Inn near East 21st Street and North Shadeland Avenue late Wednesday evening.
Officers said a man had been taken to a nearby Exxon Mobile gas station after being shot. He went to Eskenazi Hospital and died a short time later.
According to police, they found a 36-year-old woman in a room at the Knights Inn with a gunshot wound to the foot. She was taken to Eskenazi with non-life threatening injuries. Investigators said both shootings are related.
Police found a black Chevy Malibu at the gas station and were processing it for evidence. The vehicle went to impound early Thursday morning.
Homicide detectives are working to determine to cause of the shooting and urge anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 317-262-TIPS (8477).
