INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – IMPD detectives are asking the community for information to help find alleged murder suspect Devion Tooson, 21, of Indianapolis. The suspect is wanted for the shooting death of Michael Banyard, 20, on Saturday, April 23, 2016.
On April 23, just before 1 a.m. IMPD officers were dispatched to the 9000 block of East 39th Street on a report of a person shot. When officers arrived they found Banyard outside and unresponsive suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators learned that the victim and the suspect had been involved in a dispute that resulted in the suspect allegedly shooting and killing the victim outside. The suspect then fled the scene. Detectives later identified Tooson as the suspected shooter. On Wednesday, April 27 detectives obtained a warrant for Tooson for murder.
Tooson is described as black male, 5’ 6” tall, weighing approximately 135 pounds. Tooson should be considered armed and dangerous and should not be approached.
