Four Lawrence Central students hospitalized in northeast side crash
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Four Lawrence Central students were hospitalized in a crash on the city’s northeast side Wednesday morning.
The crash occurred around 10:25 a.m. at the intersection of East 71st Street and North Shadeland Avenue. According to police, none of the students had life-threatening injuries.
MSD of Lawrence Township spokesperson Dana Altmeyer released this statement:
“We were notified that there was an accident at 71st and Shadeland Avenue involving 4 Lawrence Central students. They were leaving McKenzie Center for Innovation & Technology (MCIT) and heading back to LC for the day. Four students were involved in a head on collision. The driver of the vehicle became trapped in the car and has head injuries but was freed, conscious and transported to the hospital to be treated for non-life threatening injuries. The other three students were sent to the hospital for examination and treatment of non-life threatening injuries. Building administrators went to the hospital to be with the students until their parents arrived.”
