BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Bloomington police have positively identified partial human remains found in October 2014 as those of a man who went missing two years ago.

Bloomington Captain Steven Kellams says the remains are those of Taz Hughes, 22. Kellams says the cause of Hughes’ death remains under investigation.

According to the National Missing and Unidentified Persons System, Hughes went missing at the Monroe County Fairgrounds on July 30, 2014. Hughes was there with a friend, and he was supposed to meet back up with the friend at a designated location at 10:30 p.m. But Hughes never arrived at the location.

On October 23, 2014 police were called to the 1600 block of North Willis Drive. A mobile home had been moved from a lot, and crews were in the process of cleaning the lot when they discovered the remains.
