Indy 500 badges

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — First responders in Indianapolis are honoring “The Greatest Spectacle in Racing” on their uniforms.

Commemorative badges mark the 100th running of the Indianapolis 500.

The badges are being worn by Indianapolis Metropolitan Police, Indianapolis firefighters and workers with the Department of Public Safety.

The men and women can wear the special badges instead of their normal ones until after the race on May 29.

Those wanting to wear the badges will pay for them themselves.
