State troopers allegedly find marijuana and marijuana wax from Anderson couple’s home

ANDERSON, Ind. – An Anderson couple was arrested on numerous drug charges Wednesday.

ISP troopers started the investigation around 9:30 a.m. in the Lafayette area which in turn led them to a home in the 2500 block of East 7th Street in Anderson. Troopers spoke with residents Rex Roderick Bryan, 42 and Kathrin M. Bryan, 41.

A search warrant was later obtained and executed around 12:30 p.m. Troopers allegedly found marijuana and a laboratory to extract tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) from raw marijuana, which is called marijuana wax.

Marijuana wax is made with a makeshift laboratory that uses butane fuel and other highly volatile chemicals that have the possibility to explode or cause an uncontrollable fire.

Troopers seized approximately four pounds of marijuana with a street value of $12,000 along with marijuana wax with a street value of $5,000.

The couple was arrested and charged with dealing in marijuana, possession of marijuana, possession of mushrooms, maintaining a common nuisance, and three counts of possession of a controlled substance.

Kathrin has been a substitute teacher at Anderson Community Schools for about four years. According to Assistant Superintendent for Secondary Schools Amanda McCammon, Kathrin will not be allowed to serve in the school as long as there are any pending charges.

They were both were transported to the Madison county Jail. The investigation is continuing.
